Self-styled investigative journalist and Twitter blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, who happens to also be the daughter of a former Governor of Oyo State has come under fire for an insensitive statement regarding the EndSARS protesters.

In a now-trending tweet that was seen by OYOGist.com, the blogger called all 18 to 25 year old #EndSARS protesters that claim harassment but have not reported it to the Police Complaint Response Unit a criminal.

“If ypu are 18-24 yo on Twitter protesting #endsars you are possibly a criminal id you claim harassment and extortion and NEVER reported it to @PoliceNG_CRU. Even the e armed robbers are screaming #EndSARSImmediately” her tweet read.

Perhaps, Kemi thought she was just lending her voice or trying to sound funny, but this didn’t sit well with Nigerians on Twitter.

Kemi has become the number 1 trending term on Nigerian Twitter trends as the number of people reacting to her tweet and calling for her page to be reported has risen quickly.

The #EndSARS protests have continued to take ground both online and offline as hundreds of thousands of protesters, including celebrities, take to Twitter and the streets to demand the disbandment of the dreaded Police Unit.
