Yesterday, Anambra State announced september 7th as resumption date for schools. Some states like Lagos, Delta, Osun and kogi has also fixed resumption date for tertiary institutions.

Recall that ASUU dared the FG and threatened not to resume even if schools reopen this month. ASUU had embarked on strike over IPPIS and withheld salaries of some lecturers. The striking lecturers also rejected the IPPIS and introduced a new method of salary payment to the federal government.

The Union vowed that Until their demands are met, the strike will not be called off. The federal government on it’s part says effort is ongoing to end ASUU strike so as to ensure students are not kept at home much longer.
