Meanwhile, Reports have emerged that some states in Nigeria might witness a more devastating second wave of the coronavirus disease.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has warned that the non-compliance to Covid-19 health guidelines could spike the second wave in Adamawa and other states in the country.

The technical adviser in the implementation of NCDC’s action plan, Fahad Muhammad, gave the warning in Adamawa state,Premium Times reported.

Muhammad sounded the warning during the sensitisation of officials of fthe Nigerian police and other paramilitary agencies in Yola.

The official disclosed that the health agency was concerned about the low testing for Covid19 in Adamawa and otherstates.

Muhammad pointed out that there are some LGA in Adamawa state where testing has never taken place.

He said: ”There is serious concern, (though we don’t pray and Godforbid) that there’s likely to be even more devastating second wave of Covid-19 in Adamawa and other states due to the non-compliance to coronavirus health guidelines and people declining tests.”

Muhammad said the NCDC was planning to open testing centres in each LGA of Adamawa to check the spread of the disease.
