The Rivers State government led by Barrister Nyesom Wike during his speech yesterday in Port Harcourt government house, hinted that PDP members in the state should avoid taking part in meetings called by those aspiring for the governorship office in the state, oyogist.com reports.

And also, Governor Wike has publicized to the people of Rivers State, that the federal government has not yet responded in giving the state the N78 billion refund for the constructed federal roads.

Governor Nyesom Wike has warned PDP members in Rivers state against attending any political meeting called by those aspiring to be Governor in 2023.

Governor Wike gave the warning on Thursday when the new state executive members of the PDP led by its Chairman, Desmond Akawor visited him at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

The Governor also assured that the PDP’s primary for next year local government election will be conducted this year. He said he deliberately delayed further appointments into his cabinet to test the loyalty of members of the party.

Governor Wike also clarified that the Rivers State Government has not received the 78 billion Naira federal government refund for federal roads constructed by the State government.

Governor Wike said this to let the people know maybe that should be the main reason for the trending N18 billion news every where in the state.

Recall that months ago, the Federal government of Nigeria after inspecting the Federal roads constructed by the past and present Rivers State governors or government, decided to approve the refund of N78 billion to the Rivers State government.

Governor Wike and the well meaning Rivers people are yet to receive the said money as the federal government is yet to deliver based on their promise.
