Alternative Routes Are Ready, Lagos Government Tells Motorists

According to report reaching OYOGist.com, the Lagos State Government has allegedly called on motorists in the state to use any other alternate road during the partial repair of the Bridge. According to the statement release by the Transportation Ministry on Friday, he disclosed that the work will commence by Federal Ministry of Works, he noted that the six months work is to fix the worn out joints on the bridge structure.

Transportation Commissioner Dr Frederic Oladeinde, who commence the project, disclosed that there will be free flow traffic in the state during the repair of the Bridge. He said the ongoing maintenance work on the alternate road for traffic management was rounded up in preparation for the partial closure scheduled on 24th of July.

Oladeinde clarified that the first phase of bridge reconstruction will focus on Oworonshoki inward and Lagos Island. We will schedule a traffic diversion in the morning, as from 12.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m, the Lagos Island inward traffic will take place in the afternoon, 1.00 p.m. to 12.00 p.m.

“Motorists going to Ikeja, Ikorudu in the morning are advise to make use of Carter Bridge to access Eko Bridge via Ijora Olopa which can take them via Funsho Williams Avenue, they can also use Carter Bridge to Iddo through Oyingbo”.

The Lagos State Government has also requested motorists from V.I to use the Ozumba Mbadiwe Route to the Falomo Bridge, via Alfred Rewane to Old Kingsway way, Osborn to Ilubirin or Catter Bridge.
