ALGON Defends Wike For Suspending LGA Chairmen

There is a heavy controversy surrounding Governor Wike’s decision to suspend Port Harcourt City LGA Chairman, Hon Victor Ihunwo, Abua/Odual Local Government Chairman Hon. Hon. Daniel O. E. Daniel, and Degema Local Government Chairman Hon. Tony Phimoore, oyogist reports.

However, The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Rivers State Chapter has openly defended Governor Wike for suspending the Chairmen for culpable offenses.

ALGON frowned at Mr Ogbonna Nwuke for his uncut utterances. ALGON stated that “Mr. Ogbonna Nwuke lacks knowledge of and has no capacity to speak on such matter.

The support for Governor Wike was issued by ALGON’s Public Relations officer and Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hope Ikiriko.

Hon. Hope Ikiriko asserted that the Chairmen viz Chairmen of Phalga Victor Ihunwo, Degema Tony Phimoore and Abua/Odual Daniel E. O. Daniel Local Government Areas were suspended by Governor Nyesom Wike “in line with section 64 (Subsection 3) of the Rivers State Local Government Law No. 5 of 2018.

According to PRO of ALGON “it is unfortunate the Mr Ogbonna Nwuke will hide under the guise of APC To issue a seven day ultimatum to Governor Nyesom Wike to recall the suspended LGA chairmen.

Hon Hope Ikiriko asserted “that the suspension of the Three chairman is a correctional measure and that Mr. Nwuke should not bring the crisis in the APC to the PDP”.
