The six-week standoff between India and Chinese military in the eastern Ladakh borders of India has taken another dimension, as the Indian government has ordered its military to immediately without delay deal with any Chinese aggression on its borders forcefully.

The decision was reached after a meeting with India’s top military commanders by Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat. Present at the meeting were Army Chief Gen MM Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.

On June 15, a bloody clash between the Indian and Chinese military in the Galwan Valley left 20 Indian Army Personnel dead, while 76 were injured. However, the Chinese authorities have kept secret the number of casualties their military suffered during the confrontation.

According to the available information on Indian media, the Army Chief has ordered his men to maintain vigil along the strategic land, sea and air borders and respond with fire and fury against any Chinese movement.

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Army have ramped up their operational capabilities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) after they were given full freedom to deal with any Chinese aggressive behaviour along the de-facto border between the two nations.
