Melinda Gates announces $30M to fund women equality in the USA

American philanthropist and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Melinda Gates, has announced a $30 million dollars initiative to help fund equality for women in politics in America come 2030.

Melinda Gates is known for her work with her and billionaire husband Bill Gates at The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation that fights for poverty eradication across the world and the protection of women.

The new initiative, tagged Equality Can’t Wait Challenge, is aimed at getting more women to be involved in American politics through her company Pivotal Ventures.

“The past few months have made it clearer than ever that women, especially women of color, need to be at the table as the U.S shapes a new and better future,” Melinda Gate said in a LinkedIn post she shared today, Tuesday, 16th of June.

“Today, my company, Pivotal Ventures, is launching the Equality Can’t Wait Challenge, which will award $30 million to bold solutions that help expand women’s power and influence in the U.S by 2030.”
