The billionaire founder of Microsoft and global philanthropist, Bill Gates has reiterated that the world does not have any alternative to COVID-19 vaccine, OYOGist.com has learned.
“Humankind has never had a more urgent task than creating broad immunity for coronavirus. It’s going to require a global coorporative effot like the world has never seen,” Bill Gates wrote in a LinkedIn caption to his Gates Notes article titled “What You Need to Know About the COVID-19 Vaccine“.
“But I know we’ll get it done. There’s simply no alternative,” he said.
Bill Gates, in is now-popular note, explained that the drugs that are being touted by leaders and pharmacists are not the answers to life getting back to normal or times before COVID-19, and that will need a miracle drug to see that happen.
“We’d need a miracle treatment that was at least 95 percent effective to stop the outbreak. Most of the drug candidates right now are nowhere near that powerful. The could save a lot of lives, but they aren’t enough to get us back to normal,” Bill Gates wrote in his article.
Rather, he explained that what humankind is left with is a vaccine.
He has been a huge proponent of vaccines, and while this has earned Bill Gates so much backlash in his home country of America, and the rest of the world, his experience dealing with polio and other illnesses across Africa and the rest of the world have shaped his belief in vaccines.
“Humankind has never had a more urgent task than creating broad immunity for coronavirus. Realistically, if we’re going to return to normal, we need to develop a safe, effective vaccine.”
