One of the 2 escapee COVID-19 patients caught and isolated in Oyo State

OYOGist.com recalls that 2 COVID-19 patients were reported to have absconded on their way to the isolation center in Oyo State earlier today, 6th of May.

The State’s Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has on Wednesday, 6th of May, announced that one of the two patients has now been located and brought to the Infectious Disease Centre (IDC) Olodo Isolation Centre.

Sharing the update, the Governor said, “we have a further update on the two absconded cases reported earlier today. They absconded before being admitted to any of our isolation centres.

“After intensive contact tracing, one of them has been found and admitted to the IDC, Olodo.”

The Governor revealed, however, that the second one, a 10-year-old boy, was reported by eye-witness to have boarded a north-bound vehicle. The state government have forward his details to the Sokoto State PHEOC, while further contact tracing is ongoing.
