The General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Adeboye has reacted to the rape and murder of 22-year-old UniBen student that was raped and murdered while reading in a church, OYOGist.com has gathered.

Vera Uwaila Omozuwa was reading in a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), when she was gang-raped and brutally killed by unidentified persons on Wednesday.

Vera Uwa was raped and killed with the can of a fire extinguisher in a church in Edo, Nigeria

Vera Uwaila Omozuwa died before she could get help.

On Sunday, the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Adeboye reacted to the rape and murder of the UniBen student on Sunday, when he condemned the the act “strongly” and said he will pray for the family of the victim.

The revered clergy also revealed that the church is already cooperating with the police on the case.

“All I can do at this time is to pray for the family of Omozuwa and do everything possible working with relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to book,” Pastor Adeboye shared on social media.

“I am members of my family condemn this act strongly and urge everyone to stay calm as we are already looking into the matter and cooperating with the police to establish the facts of the shocking incident. #justiceforuwa”
