OYOGist.com has learned that the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Prof Edward Olanipekun has said he was not directly involved in Monday’s motor accident.

Prof Edward Olanipekun said that one of the cars in his convoy, however, had an accident with another vehicle that was in-coming. The VC who is a revered professor of Chemistry stressed that the passengers of the affected vehicle in his convoy were evacuated and are receiving treatment in the hospital.

The VC said his backup car was involved in the accident, not the car that carried him. “The Vice-Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun is not involved in any accident contrary to insinuations in some quarters,” said Bode Olofinmuagun, Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs.
