OYOGist.com has learned that a driver whose name is Olalekan Hameed has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing his boss’s mother, Mrs Jolasun Okunsanya on December 1st, 2018. Late Mrs Jolasun was 76 when she was murdered by her son’s driver.
It was gathered that Hameed went to the house to steal some valuable things but he was caught in the act by Mrs. Jolasun Hameed after which he made up his mind to murder the old woman and steal #97,500 and $112 dollars from the woman.
The suspect was later arrested and was first charged with two count charges of murder and stealing. The first hearing was on March 6th, 2019. Hameed pleaded not guilty to any of the offence. This recent court trial was held online with the help of video app zoom and the case lasted for about 3 hours. The suspect was at Kirikiri prison, while the remaining lawyers were at different locations.

The Judge concluded by saying that the evidence provided before the court of law does not have any contradiction which may have proved weighty enough to cast any doubt on the case. The Judge also said that although the suspect only had the intention to steal from the diseased, the fact that he was caught off guard by the diseased triggered him to push her and to also strangulate her in an attempt to stop her from voicing out.
The Judge concluded the case by finding the suspect guilty of murder and hereby sentenced him to death by hanging. The judge also prayed that God may have mercy on the soul of Mr Hameed.
