COVID19 patient flees Lagos, caught in Ibadan

A COVID19 patient who had tested positive to Coronavirus in Lagos State and was awaiting her result has been tracked down in Oyo State, OYOgist.com has learnt.

The said COVID-19 patient did not wait to be quarantined after going in for her test in Lagos State, knowing she was positive for the disease, but chose to come to Ibadan before the result was released.

According to the Governor of Oyo State who also doubles as the head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, Engr Seyi Makinde, the Lady has been tracked down in Ibadan, on Thursday, 30th of April.

While the result was recorded as one of the cases in Lagos, the patient is currently being isolated at the Infectius Disease Centre, Olodo in Oyo State.

“The Emergency Operations Centre was able to track a COVID-19 positive case, following an alert from Lagos State,” Governor Seyi Makinde revealed.

“The patient had a test in Lagos but came to Ibadan while waiting for the result. The result has been recorded as a Lagos State case but the patient, a woman, has been taken to the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo.”

OYOGist.com recalls that the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde had earlier in the day visited the border towns of the State in an effort to ensure better compliance with the ban on interstate travels in the country.
