Coronavirus: Oyo PDP donates N100,000 to government

OYOGist.com has learned that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo state chapter, in what was described as a show of support to the state government under the leadership of governor Seyi Makinde, in its fight against the scourge of corona virus pandemic has donated the sum of N100,000 (one hundred thousand naira) to Oyo state COVID-19 Endowment Fund.

The party’s spokesman in the state, Engr Akeem Olatunji made this known to pressmen on Friday in a statement jointly signed by the state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha, State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, and the state publicity secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji.

The party affirmed that although notable individuals and private organizations have made several donations in support of the state government to battle the pandemic but stressed that as long as the battle continues wealthy individuals, private bodies, as well as associations must continue to rally support for the government so that efforts would have much impact.

The party urged all residents in the state to help the government to help the people by adhering strictly to all safety precautions and guidelines especially during the ramadan period.
