Ibadan Chief Imam Announces Suspension Of Jum’ah Till Further Notice

OYOGist.com has learned that the council of Imam in Ibadan has announced the suspension of Juma’ah prayers till further notice, as part of measures to contain coronavirus pandemic.

This is also in line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s directive on public gatherings

The Grand Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Abdul Ganiyy Abubakry, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday.

In a ciruclar seen by InsideOyo.com on Thursday, the council of Imam in Ibadan asked Allah to have his mercy on everyone.

On March 21, Oyo state recorded one confirmed case of coronavirus and some people are in isolation.

The state government has also announced measures to contain the spread.

On Wednesday, the government directed civil servant to proceed on two weeks leave, shut down schools and planning to close its borders.
