Oyogist.com has learned that the Coronavirus pandemic has forced the world’s largest democracy to go on a lockdown, leading to chaos as thousands of migrant workers travel from the industrial cities to their home towns.

A new CNN video shared on Instagram showed thousands of people pushing at each other as they hurry to leave the cities following a government-ordered lockdown.

Indian Prime Minister, Narenda Modi, issued a complete lockdown to prevent the spread of the novel Coronavirus in the country, ordering all companies to shut down entirely.

There are concerns that the rush to get transportation with thousands crowding at major cities without observing recommended social distancing rules will defeat the efforts of the Indian government.

As workers travel back home from the city, they struggle to get busses home as transportation has also halted in most cities.

Many would spend days or even weeks on the roads traveling unimaginable distances to go home.

One citizen said his home is 500 kilometers away (this is roughly the distance between Lagos to Abuja), and he would be making the trip on foot as he has no money, food or water.
