BREAKING: Lagos confirms 4 new cases of Covid-19, bringing total to 12

4 new cases of coronavirus covid-19 confirmed in Lagos

The government of Lagos State, through the commissioner for health – Professor Akin Abayomi, has announced the confirmation of 4 new cases of the Covid-19 report in Lagos State, OYOGist.com has learned.

Lagos confirms 4 new cases of covid-19

The 4 new cases were confirmed after 19 suspected cases and contacts of the 5 cases that were reported yesterday were tested, and 4 returned positive.

According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, one of the 4 new cases was a contact of the 3rd case that came in from UK – among the 5 new reported cases on Wednesday 18th of March, 2020.

Another of the four is a female Nigerian who returned to Nigeria on the 14th of March, 2020 from France through Istanbul via a Turkis flight number TK1830.

The third is a Nigerian male who has never been out of the country but shown symptoms of being positive with the virus and has been admitted in the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.

The fourth case is a Nigerian male who arrived in Lagos on the 13th of March, 2020 from Frankfort on Lufthansa Flight number LH568.

These new confirmed cases now bring the total confirmed cases of coronavirus patients in Nigeria to 12.

The commissioner also announced that more tests are being carried out on other suspected patients.
