Governor Seyi Makinde started trending on Twitter today 3rd February, after declaring that the hawkers on the streets of Ibadan would not be sent off the streets without making adequate provisions for their welfare.

This has prompted people to compare him to Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State who earlier placed a ban on motorcycles (known as okada) and Tricycles (keke) in the majority of the state.

Lagosians have taken to the social media network to complain about the hardship they now face in order to make it to work on time without the motorcycles on the street.

Announcing his plans to rid the streets of Oyo State of hawkers, Governor Seyi Makinde said there would be a process before taking them off the streets.

Many are now reacting to this by comparing him with the governor of Lagos state. See their reactions below.
