The Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council have just handed a six months suspension to the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi over the recent spate with another monarch that resulted in a physical assault.

The Oluwo allegedly attacked the Agbowu of Ogbagbaa, Oba Dhirulahi Akinropo while they participated in a peace meeting to bring a solution to a disagreement between the monarchs over a piece of land on February 14th.

A committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, has also been put in place to carry out investigations on the matter between the Oluwo and the other monarchs.

The decision to suspend the Oluwo was arrived at by the Obas in an emergency meeting held at the Osun State Government Secretatiat, Abere. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, precided over the meeting.
