A writer has taken to micro-blogging platform, Twitter to celebrate and narrate the good luck that followed him into the new year.

Identified as Corwin Malcolm, he revealed that in 2019, every PhD program to which he applied, rejected him. However, in a blissful turn of events, the new year had a great blessings for him as he got accepted to four fully-funded PhD programs.

While sharing how he was able to achieve the new feat, Malcolm said that he had to do some self reflection and adoption of a new approach.

He wrote: “last year I was rejected from every PhD program to which I applied. “this year, I have been accepted to four fully-funded PhD programs, all of which are offering competitive fellowships and stipends.

“I am so glad I did not give up.

“for those asking what i did differently: for me it was a matter of looking more thoroughly into myself, and into programs, to find out which ones were the better fit for me. the content of my application didn’t change much — how i was pitching myself (and to whom) did.”
