President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is finally making moves to address the US-travel ban issued to Nigerians by President Donald Trump.

Cited as the reason for the ban includes a lack of information and intelligence sharing on security and terrorism in Africa’s largest country and economy.

Nigeria was among 6 predominantly African nations banned from accessing permanent residents or long stay visas into the United States.

The other countries include Eritrea, Sudan, Tanzania, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar. But Nigeria is affected the most by the ban.

The Nigerian Presidency’s official Twitter account released a statement that revealed that the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbeshola, has put together a committee to study and address the new requirements required by the United States concerning security compliance expected from governments of foreign countries.

According to the committee, Nigeria will maintain productive relations with the United States, the INTERPOL and other international allies on matters of global security.
