As Russia’s President Putin looks forward to retirement in 2024, he’s already making significant changes to the country’s governing body.

Just a few days ago, The Russian Federation got a new Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, the former head of the country’s tax agency. This move will see the country’s government get dissolved as former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev resigns.

Changes to the constitution would empower the country’s parliamentary body and strengthen the State Council, a department Vladmir Putin currently heads and would retire to. Here, Putin would continue to wield more power over the country even when he’s no longer the President.
