Governor Seyi Makinde announces a Kano indigene as his aide

The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has just announced an indigene of Kano, a core North state as his aide. The governor appointed Alhaji Ahmed Murtala as his Special Assistant on Community Relations I.

Mr Femi Josiah was also tapped to be the Governor’s Special Assistant on Community Relations II. The Governor also approved as his Special Adviser on Health, Dr Olufunmilayo Salami. Chief Jacob Adetoro was given an appointment as Chairman of Federal Constituencies Laison Officers. 14 Constituency Liason Officers were announced, according to a statement from the Government House. They would each represent each of the sate’s 14 federal constituencies.

According to the statement, Mr Murtala is from Nasarawa Local Government of Kano State who attended St. Brigid Boys School Mokola and proceeded to Community Grammar School, Mokola, Ibadan for his secondary school education.

According to the statement, Murtala will bridge the gap between the State Government and the Hausa/Fulani community and other members of the northern community within the state.

The statement also read that Dr Salami was a health consultant to the state government prior to her appointment as Special Adviser on Health.

“She was a United States of America-based Paediatric Emergency Medicine Physician.” The statement read.

”Gov. Makinde charged the new appointees, whose appointments took effect from Nov. 27, to see their appointments as a call to service and urged them to discharge their duties with absolute loyalty, dedication and diligence.” (NAN)
